We are delighted to announce that Katrin Rickmeier, PhD candidate in Project RegioEcon Phase 1 (PIs: Prof. Dr. Anna Zaharieva & Prof. Dr. Herbert Dawid, Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, Bielefeld), successfully defended her dissertation on Monday, October 6th, 2025.

 

She earned her Doctorate in Sociology (Dr. phil.) from the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University with her dissertation titled “Regional Opportunities and Disparities: Modelling Labour Market Inequalities and Dynamics of Digitalization.” Her dissertation and defense were both awarded the highest distinction, summa cum laude. The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Dr. Simon Kühne (SOEP-RegioHub & Faculty of Sociology, Bielefeld) and Prof. Dr. Anja Abendroth (Faculty of Sociology, Bielefeld).
